Happy Wednesday

Trump said "no force" on Greenland. The trade war ended before it really began.

He announced a framework deal with NATO, canceling the February 1st European tariffs. Markets love certainty more than they care about Arctic mineral rights. Precious metals sold off slightly, everything else rallied. A ton of bullish macro signals for the market today.

Let’s dig in...

Today's Big Picture

1. Tariff Threat Vanishes

Trump announced a "framework" deal with NATO on Greenland, canceling the February 1st tariffs on Europe. He confirmed the U.S. won't use military force. When asked what kind of deal this is, he called it a "concept of a deal."

2. Supreme Court Tests Fed Independence

Justices heard arguments on whether Trump can fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook. They seemed skeptical of the administration's case. The ruling will set the boundaries of presidential power over the Fed. Trump also said he's basically made his Fed Chair pick and will announce soon.

3. Netflix Pauses Buybacks Netflix

$NFLX beat subscriber estimates but shares dropped on news it's pausing buybacks. The company is hoarding cash for the pending Warner Bros deal. 2026 margin guidance also missed.
